Andrew is a former Dean of the London Business School, where he continues to teach and to research on the use of judgement in management.
Andrew has started his own book business, run a textile plant in Germany and was Head of the UK Government Accountancy Service. Previous non-executive posts included Chairman of the National Audit Office, Economists’ Bookshop Group, market research firm MORI and US battery technology company AIC. He was non-executive Director of the Bank of England and Barclays Bank, and President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He is currently the Senior non-executive Director of Times Newspapers Holdings, director of the quoted Lloyds insurance underwriter Beazley plc and of Monument, a start-up bank.
Andrew advised the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee and was a member of several official inquiries, including the “Cadbury Committee” on UK corporate governance and of the UN Secretary-General’s committee on the governance of the United Nations.
